Response Reflection: “As long as the flame does not go out, there is hope.”
In my memory, I have only ever shared the Gospel in Mandarin and led people in the sinner’s prayer. Now I ask myself: has the time come to reach those who can only understand Hakka?
In fact, my mother is Hakka, and since childhood I have spoken Hakka at home. I feel I have no reason or excuse not to participate in this rare global Hakka Gospel Conference held in Kuching. At the same time, I pray that God will use this conference to rekindle my passion for evangelizing the Hakka people, so that the small flame in my heart will not grow weaker.
As I attended this conference, I saw many brothers and sisters who love the Lord and love the Hakka people, willing to travel far by plane to attend. It truly moved me! In response to the call to evangelize the Hakka people, I do not want to be like Jonah and become a deserter; even more, I do not want my life to be like Jonah’s—disobedient, requiring God to use continual “arrangements” to correct, discipline, and train His servant so that His plan may be fulfilled.
In addition, Dr. Chung also reminded me again that the testimony of life is to make others desire to know the Lord Jesus whom I believe in, to know how this God gives me an abundant life—one that is meaningful, joyful, and purposeful!
Finally, in this “Love the Hakka, Win the Hakka” conference, although the fire that was ignited in my heart may be small, as long as it does not go out, there is hope. Though my contribution is limited, as long as it continues, it becomes strength! Let “love” not be a fleeting firework, but a lighthouse that shines continuously!
