Rev. Luo Zucheng: “First Gather, Then Disperse”
The Closing Spiritual Revival Meeting of the 3rd Global Hakka Gospel Conference
“God loves us and God blesses us so that we may extend His blessings to others, so that more people may receive blessing. In this way, God’s love among us can be brought to completion.”
The closing ceremony of the 3rd Global Hakka Gospel Conference was also a spiritual revival meeting. The main speaker was Rev. Luo Zucheng, Chairman of the Global Hakka Gospel Association. The theme was “Gathering for Dispersion.”
Genesis 12:1–3 clearly tells us that God called Abram, blessed him, made him great, and also made all the families of the earth be blessed through Abram.
The Church Should Not Be Inferior, Selfish, or Self-Protective
God has chosen us and blessed us in order that blessings and grace may be “gathered” upon us, and then from us be “dispersed” outward, so that more people may be blessed. However, although we clearly understand God’s will is for us to distribute blessings, we often fail to do so. Therefore, Rev. Luo Zucheng summarized the reasons for this failure into three: inferiority, selfishness, and self-protection.
“Many church leaders say their churches are small and do not have extra money to support global missions. But if there is no money, can we replace it with prayer? If we only look at our own smallness, we will certainly feel inferior, but we must look to God—those who have much should do much, those who have little should do what they can.”
Rev. Luo said selfishness is a common human problem. Many Christians are willing to give to their own churches but are unwilling to support missions, because missions mean “taking money out of one’s own pocket for others to use.” However, God’s blessings exceed our imagination: the more selfish a person is, the less he has; the more willing a person is to give, the more he receives.
Christians must remember not to be inferior, not to be selfish, and not to be self-protective. Rev. Luo emphasized that people are very skilled at self-protection, but this is not what Jesus Christ is pleased with; for Jesus Christ suffered and died for the sins of the world, becoming incarnate.
He stressed that the church should not remain in a state of inferiority, selfishness, and self-protection, but should instead “obey the call of God,” leave its comfort zone, go out to preach the Gospel, and reach the Hakka people among the Hakka communities.
At the closing ceremony, Rev. Luo Zucheng also announced that Rev. Wu Tianhui, the then General Secretary of the Global Hakka Gospel Association, would be stepping down from his position. He then led the congregation in prayer, asking God to open the way for the association to appoint a new General Secretary as soon as possible.
