The 3rd Global Hakka Gospel Conference was successfully concluded
“Love the Hakka, Win the Hakka” — The 3rd Global Hakka Gospel Conference was held from 19 to 21 September at Jing Guang Church in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. A total of 900 participants from 14 countries and regions around the world gathered together to seek ways to “win the Hakka people for the Lord.”
The theme “Love the Hakka, Win the Hakka” featured Dr. Chung Chi Pong, former principal of Trinity Theological College, Singapore, as the main speaker. Dr. Liu Yizhang, professor at Hong Kong Alliance Bible Seminary and Centre for Christian and Chinese Culture Studies, and Rev. Wen Yongsheng, principal of Taiwan Hakka Mission Seminary, served as keynote speakers, presenting on the topics “Understanding Hakka History and Culture” and “Breaking Barriers to the Salvation of the Hakka Ethnic Group.”
For the revival meetings and evangelistic services, Rev. Luo Zucheng, Senior Pastor of the Tsung Tsin Mission of Hong Kong, was invited as speaker. Rev. Chen Chaoqiang, former District President of the Methodist Church in Malaysia, Kuching District, served as the speaker for the conference’s Bible Study Morning Prayer sessions.
The conference officially opened on the evening of the 19th. Besides inviting Yeri Susio, Assistant Minister of Local Government and Community Development (Public Health) of Sarawak, as the guest of honour, the opening ceremony and the Mid-Autumn Evangelistic Celebration Concert on the following evening also featured performances by the Taiwan Hakka Sacred Music Choir, Taiwanese Hakka singer-songwriter Huang Cuifang, and Malaysian Artists Home performers such as Yao Yanting, Wei Wei, Chen Meijun, and Lin Jingmiao.
On the evening of the 20th Mid-Autumn Evangelistic Celebration, the Taiwan Hakka Sacred Music Choir and singer-songwriter Huang Cuifang presented moving musical performances, while Malaysian artists delivered vibrant singing and dancing programs. In addition to music and dance, there were also martial arts performances and drama presentations, creating a warm and joyful evening for the audience.
At the same time, Rev. Luo Zucheng expounded on Psalm 90:1–12, explaining that life is not only divided into birth, aging, sickness, and death, and addressed the reasons for human suffering and helplessness, urging believers to obtain a “wise heart” and enter into the fifth stage of life.
During the conference, the Global Hakka Gospel Association also held its general assembly and elected a new board of directors, with Rev. Luo Zucheng re-elected as Chairman.
On the evening of the 21st closing ceremony, Chairman Rev. Luo Zucheng announced that the 4th Global Hakka Gospel Conference would be held in Taiwan.
